Applying and wearing Betsy is a doddle but it can take a little time to fully understand her wants and needs and how best you can work together to create optimum impact and always look your best with minimum effort.
When I first took delivery of Betsy No.01 I was lucky enough to be working from home which meant I could wear her around the house and become fully comfortable with her before going out in public. Our first outing together was a little trepidatious, despite Betsy looking fabulous I felt that everyone could tell I was wearing hair. Of course that wasn't true, over the last few months in order to prepare friends and family for Beautiful Betsy's launch I have had to come clean and tell everyone that I wear hair....... believe me, no-one had spotted my lovely Betsy, lots of people have been genuinely shocked and lots of my lovely friends have cried real tears on seeing my videos (though I have told all of them to stop that nonsense). Seriously though, whatever or however you feel when wearing your Betsy for the first time, I too have felt all those emotions and as I have already done the hard yards getting to know her, I am happy to pass on all the tips and tricks so as to make your time with Betsy much easier than having to faff about with real hair.
No.1 tip is how to blend Betsy into your natural hairline, very straightforward. One further tip from me is not to use an expensive product (only an ethical one) of which there are many.
I get asked a lot about how to take care of Betsy, how often should I wash her, can I heat style her, can I cut her etc. I have already answered a lot of those questions in previous blogs........ here is how I heat style Betsy No.04. Sometimes bloggers make it look more complex than it need be, that's not my modus operandi so be warned, this is a very practical and straight forward tutorial....... Enjoy!
There is nothing I enjoy more than donning a fancy frock and some sparkly things and dancing the night away!
This weekend hubby and I attended a Masquerade Ball at The Grand Hotel in Brighton to help raise money on behalf of The British Heart Foundation. These events are generally held for a reason and on this occasion it was to celebrate the life of a very special man, Trevor who some years ago I had the pleasure to work with. Trevor worked tirelessly to raise money for charity, running marathons, cycling like a champ and various other heroic pursuits so it was shocking to learn of his passing due to a heart related problem. We all know that Trevor would have approved of the merriment and mischief making during the Ball and it was so good to catch up with old friends and talk about him and our time together. I don't know how much was raised on the night but there were some pretty deep pockets in the room, all giving generously, a very special occasion!
The other highlight of the evening for me was to spend it with my very handsome hubby in a dinner suit........ I must have a James Bond fetish, there is just something about a Dickie bow that I find irresistible. Haha, true to form though the Dickie was removed relatively early on as it was 'slowly choking' him to death, yes, I have been assured its a real threat, so ladies be wary over the Christmas season, danger abounds!
As for Betsy, she didn't let me down........ didn't have to faff about with her at all whilst getting prepped for the Ball, just a quick 'ruffle' and a spritz of hairspray and she was good to go....... Fabulous!
A quick show and tell to clearly demonstrate the difference Betsy makes to my everyday life....... let me know what you think by commenting below. Px
I have just spent the morning on Pinterest trying but failing to rescue my account....... its a long story but the account I have had with them since I was a girl (hmmmm) has been lost in the ether somewhere between me converting personal to business and changing the name. So I am now in the process of rediscovering my pins and adding them back. It occurred to me however that I don't have a hair collection, which would be understandable if I didn't have Betsy but now that I do I can dream big in that department. So, I have found all manner of loveliness and have pinned them to the account which is here.
The order is in and I will soon be in possession of Betsy No.05....... this is exciting because Betsy No.04 still has a lot of love to give me so I have hairdo options.
So on to my dilemma...... should I go bold and have a fringe cut into Betsy No.04? I already have a side fringe but I love the blunt fringe on the photo above. This is the beauty of wearing hair, I know that some of us may regard it as a chore but since owning a Betsy I have changed sides. I love the versatility she gives me, when I get up in the morning my natural hair may look a mess but Betsy never does, I love boho messy hair and Betsy gives me masses of opportunities to style her any which way I choose, something I couldn't do previously with my own hair. Now I have the delightful prospect of being able to wear a fringe if the mood takes me OR not........ confusion and envy amongst my friends will escalate, how fabulous!
I have just spent the weekend with some mad and crazy girlfriends at a 3 day Halloween Ball. Along with a couple of outfits I took along a sackful of wigs and hairpieces. As a woman who relies on hairpieces to look normal, its good to be reminded how much fun they can be when worn as part of a fancy dress outfit. All of us loved the anonymity wearing hair gave us......transforming us into different versions of ourselves and over the three days there were many transformations!! What fun!!
Hi, I am Paula and welcome to Beautiful Betsy....... born from a desire to spread the word about the best solution I have found for my own hair loss. Since finding Betsy my life has been transformed, I am back to being me and I cannot tell you what a relief it is not just for myself but for my husband, family and friends.
